Default Dutchboys 1971 Camaro Build

Hey guys! Ive been wanting to start a build thread a long time ago about the car. Ive just been so busy with customer cars and other things in life this year like getting married! its been a busy summer.

A lot of on and off work was done on the car over the last two years. I would have it down at the shop working on it here and there, then when we needed the room I would take it home for awhile and it would sit in my garage.

Shorty after my wife and I got back from our honeymoon just a few months ago. Tom from Holley and I talked more about having the car be in the booth at SEMA. With an opportunity of having the car at SEMA in the Holley booth was offered It gave me a huge motivation to get the car done. The only problem was that I had not worked on it in months. It was time to get to work! I cannot thank all of the guys at the shop enough. I couldn't have gotten it done without all of the long hours they put in. Just 4-5 weeks before SEMA the car was on the rotisserie mostly in bare metal and needed a ton of fab projects and body work to be finished.

Without any quality compromised we finished it JUST in time to load it in the trailer and drive straight through to make it for load in day. Over the next few months as its cold here in Michigan now we are going to finish up a few details and then look forward to the 2016 season. Cannot wait to hit the track and use this car for what I built it for!

Here are some pictures of what the car look like when we started.

Awesome! Thanks for posting the build pics! One question, I noticed in Marty's SEMA pics yesterday that you used a '69 dash but modded the upper portion of the DSE insert. Would a Nova dash pad work better in this situation? Just a thought and you know how much I love the build!

The new Hooker Blackhearts headers from Holley fit the Detroit Speed front sub great.
