Default Question about linkage from trans to column. 1971 cutlass

I'm helping my dad do a restoration on a 71 oldsmobile cutlass 4 speed. On the linkage that goes from the transmission to the column which allows the key to come out in reverse. Is there a spring going from the frame to the linkage? I'm not able to see an illustration of this in the manual. Does anybody know?

Thanks

Thanks
I just removed one of these linkages. I'll try to find it and post some pics.

If your not using it I'd be interested in purchasing it.

Here is a pic of what I could find. If there was anything else it might have gone with the transmission. Do you have the assembly manual? I have one and can take a look for an assembly drawing if you don't have it.

You can have it if it helps you.

Thanks for the picture. Yes we do have the manual but couldn't find this part in it. Let me take a look at it again. The car is 80 minutes from me at my dads. Thanks for taking the time to help!

I forgot to specify its a 4 speed car. Which transmission did that come from? My dad thinks there is a bracket that is bolted to the frame(holes in the location) from which a spring goes to the linkage? For whatever reason I can't find an illustration in the manual. I would greatly appreciate a picture of your manual.
Thanks,
Jacob
