Default best place to buy gauges

Been looking around at autometer gauges for my '68 camaro LS swap (5" tach and speedo, volt, fuel oil and water) and all the obvious places are priced the same. Any places I should look for a better deal or other brands I should look at??

Anyone have a set for sale?

Thanks

If you haven't looked at Speedhut yet you should check them out. They have a lot of customization options and a nice looking product.

I was under the impression that I need 5" speedometer and tach to fit the 68 gauge panel. Don't see a 5" tach or speedometer on their page??

Thumbs up

I used to have 5" Autometers in my car and had the 2 1/16 ones in the console. You can use the Autometer senders with metric adapters for your conversion. Some of the big parts houses like Jegs or Summit have good deals. I ended up buying my last set off of EBay, buying them individually and saved some cash. Are you firm on the Autometers?

I currently have the Dakota Digital VHX ones and like them a lot better. DD has a BIM module that connects to the OBD2 connector and puts the readings from your PCM into the gauges without running additional senders.

Either setup will work with the stock 67-8 factory gauge bezel. Good luck with your gauge search!

What's your timeframe? I have a set of VHX gauges (currently installed in my 67 Firebird), and I've been thinking about swapping them out for the new HDX gauges later this year.

I just bought NVU gauges. Really happy with how they turned out. Made in Detroit, MI too... but I believe most are made in the USA.

No hurry, I don't plan on doing anything other than buying parts until it cools off some.
