I was intrigued by the new LS7 option...but It made me take an even harder look at this one: https://blueprintengines.com/product...ads-roller-cam

It uses ls3 block without longer sleeves and greater then 4 in stroke.. thats a piston rocking cylinder and piston skirt wearing combo..

Appreciate the info. I had planned to revisit my under square, square and oversquare research as well. Do you think they resolved the valve issues on the recent crate engines that some production LS7 issues had? Or was that mostly an “interwebz” issue?

I recommend taking a gander over at LS1TECH .. Much info there.. If I were to be buying a motor right now in the budget range your haunting in .. 10 to 12 K I would be looking LSA>.
