Default Introducing "Sinister Cat"

Hey all, Just though I would introduce my project. It is a 1967 Mercury Cougar xr-7. I found this sit, and from the looks of it, you guys build the type of car that I am attempting to build. You don't see many cougars being built, so I think it will be a nice break. I am only 19, so this project will be a long process, but will be well worth it.

Future Plans
-Metallic Black Paint, With flat black strip and accents
-Mini tubs with deep dish bullit wheels
-Stainless steel dash w/ autometer cobalt gauges
-(far far future as money allows) 4.6 quadcam cobra motor w/t56. (using the parts from dvs restoration)
-Many other thouches that ill come as time and money allow.

Starting point:

Cougars are cool !

One of my buds in the military had a Boss Cougar, or a Eliminator Cougar or something like that. He had the intake off it and literally had tennis balls stuck in the intake ports. That was a bad boy for sure. Very comfortable car and his was grey with black stripes. (needed wider tires that weren't available back in the day) Very cool ride.

Welcome and best of luck !!

Thanks! I have a long way to go, but I will keep you all updated as I go. I am starting the interior work this weekend. Converting verything from blue to black at this point. And mustangsplus actually makes a carbonfiber style door panels (it doesnt really look like carbon fiber that is just what they call it, but it looks cool none the less). Can anyone explain what the terms g-machine and pro touring mena, I realize that i the label that you guys give to your cars, but what make it so?

Super cool! Just make sure that before you tear into the car that you tag and bag every part. Take pictures also. My car took over 30 years before I completed it. I bought my GTO at the age of 16. I'm now close to fifty.

Wow... well, I'm feeling much better about my project; so far I've only been working on it for about 13 years!

Shiny Side Up!

Wow that is a nice GTO. I have a long way to go, I just want to make sure I do things right the first time. I am actually doing the interior myself startign tomorrow, I am going black suade on the door panels and rear quarter panels. I hoping it turns out well. If not, I can get door panels for $40. I just want something a little more original. Does anyone have advice for rewrapping door panels?
