Default new to the game

Please forgive my ignorance. This is my first restoration and I need alot of help. I bought a 67 Camaro and am considering a Ford 9 inch rear end. Will I have to shave it to make my mini tubs work with 18x11 inch wheels? 315/30/18 is my tire choice at this time.
Any help is welcome.

You do not have to narrow the rear to use the big 11" rims, you can add all the additional width to the back side of the wheel. But if you want the deep lip on the outside of the wheel like most want, you will need to narrow the rear a couple inches per side. When your ready, we can help with the rear width and wheel backspace. You may find it best to buy a housing, or complete rear already narrowed.

Im told it cost quite a bit to fabricate a rear end. Is it better to buy a new housing just for strength and consistency? What length will I need. The Ford I have now is 51"?
