are those snow chains on the front tires? Pardon my ignorance as I don't live where it snows. If they are snow chains, why wouldn't they help on the front? The front needs traction too for turning.

CHains ONLY go on the drive wheels. I suppose you could put them on the front however what good is it to do that if the back tires are not chained?

That's what I was thinking. Wouldn't you need traction to get the car going and getting grip with the tires that get the power to them?
Dude in the pic needs to buy himself a beater winter car is what he needs to do!!

I thought I saw chains on the back wheels of the Challenger too. Guess I was mistaken. So obivously you'd need chains on the back wheels but does the front maintain traction through turns? I would think there would be serious understeer if there are no chains. I'm glad I don't have to deal with snow. If I did, I'd put chains on all four tires. I certainly wouldn't be dumb enough to not put chains on the drive wheels.

There's going to be understeer no matter what, but the point is to slow down in turns enough to where the front wont plow. Chains really don't help lateral traction, just foward bite.

What's all that white stuff on the ground in those pics. It sure does look cold where ever that is? I thought only guys at the north pole used chains, but due to global warming the North pole melted away and killed all the polar bears.

Sorry

This insipid use of the word "FAIL" in this way, as a statement of exclamation, has to be one of the most annoying mutilations of the English language to ever come along. Hope it passes out of fashion soon.
