Default Project: Kama Kaase

Here's the shell we'll be using for our 69 pro street/pro touring Mustang. All in all the shell is in pretty good condition.Very minimal rust to the structure of the car although the 1/4's are in the process of being replaced. We will put on new fenders, doors, hood and trunk too.We will also be replacing the entire floor pans.

Notice the engine compartment...pretty much rust free even though they will be cut out and a Rod & Custom suspension going in.

The work on the car is pretty much at a snails pace at the moment because the builder is scrambling around trying to get their cars ready for the car show at the Playboy mansion this saturday and then SEMA the following week.

Once all the dust settles by mid Novermber they will start focusing on my car. They say all the metal work/fabrication will take 3 to 4 weeks then off to the body shop.

For those of you who aren't familar with the car we will be building a 1969 Mach 1 pro street/pro touring combination. The car will have a Jon Kaase built Boss 598ci Ford hemi sporting 1000hp and an additional 250 shot of nitrous,Viper Spec T56,Rod and Custom front susp with rack and pinion,Art Morrison narrowed rear, tubbed to fit huge 33x21.50 tires,Mike Curtis custom wheels, custom interior,Shockwave air ride susp,HOK red with gloss black hood with hockey stripes going down into the fender with air brushed,Boss 598",front and rear spoliers, louvered rear windows, shaker hood scoop,10pt cage, etc, etc.

Time for an update.I'll start off by saying that I'm less than pleased with the amount of work that has been completed since the day I signed the contract but noticable progress has been made. The metal guy has a deadline to have the car downstairs to the body shop by the end of the month. He says this can and will be done.He still has the rear body panel, rear floor, quarters, cage and needs to modify the firewall for the trans tunnel left to do.The entire front end is finished and sitting on the jig waiting to be installed to the body.

As you can see or visualize, the entire engine bay will be smoothed walled which will really inhance that Kaase engine and show it off even better. On the fire wall they will lazer cut in Japaneese font,"Kama Kaase"

The shop believes the car will be on the rotisseri next month and they will put all their body guys on it to have it ready for paint in March.I'm not putting too much stock in their timeline but it helps me mentally think it could happen They still feel even though we got off on a delayed start the car will still be delivered on time. The contract says there will be a 100.00 a day penalty for each day the car is late.

This is a rendering of the car we're building.Only difference is the build car will have a full tub vs. mini tub.

Well, I think I'm going to have to add a 69-70 fastback to my list of cars to own/build. I'll just have to put an LSx into it

Seriously, the rendering looks fantastic. Who did that one for you?

Good luck making it happen. Post pictures as you go. This will be one to watch for sure.

The rendering was done by Kris Horton. The car being built will be like no other 69/70 Mach 1 considering the engine will produce 1000 naturally aspirated hp,200 shot of nitrous and 900 foot pounds of torque. This car will be the optimum hot rod as I can take the car on the power tour or lay down a 9 second quarter mile pass.

The car will be at SEMA this year.
