Well...I have a 67 mustang coupe that I have rebuilt over the past several years, and for a period there I was forced to drive it daily so I tossed in an interim motor to get it running and ended up selling my 351W project I was building for it. It currently has a 84 5.0 in it with an intake and headers being the only main additions. I am looking into building a motor for some street cruising and maybe the occasional pull at the strip or on the auto-X. I am looking into opinions on what would be a good contender. I do have a 460 big block laying around I need to go thru as well as a 67 289 block and a 88 5.0 Roller Block.
Just looking for some longevity and some fun. Opinions please.
I'd say put an LS3 in it But parts for those 5.0's are pretty low. Maybe take your '88 roller motor and stroke it and put a FAST EFI setup on it. Should run pretty good and be streetable with the right mods and tuning.
If I had those options, I'd be tempted to put in the 460 with alum. heads and set it up with the 'carb-style' fuel injection. (not that the 460 shortblock is the best for auto-x'ing)

take the roller motor stroke it to 347" with some afr heads ...either carb it or donor mass air efi set up and the possiblities are endless. the windsor aftermarket has everything and more than you would ever need
