Default Fan Clutch Problems??

I've got a small collection of new Fan Clutches in my garage that I've removed after poor performance (running Hot!!)........I just assumed they were China junk ..........Here's a great article that explains everything.........Learned something new today....

On some of my old ones -- I used to tighten the spring on the front just to the next point.... Never had any overheat issues and have had some nasty big block vettes. Which doesn't mean this actually worked - it just means I was lucky.... and I've always said "better lucky than smart!".

Funny -- now I go and read the article -- and that's what it says to do! Someone told me about this years ago... so I just always automatically did it. Learned something new about the '68 fan clutch though! I never knew these were set up for different temps.
