Default Hoist recommendations ?

I am looking to buy a hoist for my new shop, but I would like to know what makes a good hoist and a bad one..........................

Any info you can share would be great, it will probably be a 2 post one (not sure on the right name)

I have a backyard buddy and like it. Looking at the construction, none of the structural depends on welds.
