Default Ironworks Tig welding and Sheetmetal training seminar

Someone suggested that we should put on a training seminar to show others how we do some of the work we do to help the home builder improve their own quality of work. We earlier this morning I posted up I might be interested in doing some kind of seminar. I have had 3 people give an informal RSVP already.
SO here we go.

May 20-22, 2011 or June 10-12, 2011 At my shop in Bakersfield. We will do it so pretty much anybody from wherever could be here and just miss 1 day of work.

Friday at 3pm til 7pm followed by Dinner at a great local restaurant
Satruday 8am til 5pm followed by dinner at a great local restaurant
Sunday 7am till 11am. We will let out in time to catch the majority of afternoon flights out of here.

I have found there is a few flights from Phoenix to Bakersfield, that get here about 12:45 on Friday. There are quite a few destination that leave from Bakersfield after 12pm on Sunday also. So I think anybody could connect from whereever into Bakersfield for this weekend event.

With the training we plan to have 6 instructors with 2 students each for the 16 hour weekend seminar. It will be 100% shop time, not boring lecture. All work will be hands on. We plan to tune the class to each individual's desired goal. We will be prepared for Tig Welding Sheetmetal, Metal finishing sheetmetal, Tig Welding chassis type material, We can also do some design stuff, you want to learn how to set and design to build that crazy project into your own car. I think at this point we will limit the class to 12 students. The cost is going to be $650 bucks. We will supply snacks and beverages during class time, but all meals and hotel plans would not be covered. You will need to bring your own welding helmet and gloves.

The Hampton Inn off of Merle Haggard road is a very nice hotel, and would be a great Hotel that is very close to the airport and my shop. My shop is about a half mile away from the airport and hotel. We will handle all your transportation needs while your here, from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the shop and to dinner each night and back. You can ask anybody who has been here, I have some good food spots. Greg will tell you about the Italian restaurant we have here. You will eat well while your here.

You will not be building a mail box or a flower pot you will be working on actual car projects to show how the work applies to what you doing at home.

Reservations will be held by complete payment for the Seminar.

Email me with any questions. Or just post up your comments or ideas in the thread. [email protected]

Plus I heard that big time shop near you is full of smokers. Who needs 2nd hand smoke when your trying to learn.

Yeah let me know what you think. It will be a nice piece when the owners gets it under the 57. The 57 only had 8900 original miles. Crazy.

I wish you could join us Kevin, it would be fun. You and your little buddy need to come out here for the reunion in October.

That sounds cool.

That is really all I have in May. I have only free weekend in June. In between Colorado Goodguys and La Roadster show in Pomona. But it can start to get warm out here in June. Not like July and August but still pretty warm.

Rodger,

Thanks for the invite, but my time is booked! At this rate, I won't be able to take on anything else until mid-2013.
