Thanks to those that have taken the time to watch this video. I posted it up because I thought it had a great "life's lesson" in it. I'm not a religious guy or anything... and in fact I'll vote republican 9 out of 10 times. But when people ask me what I am (politically) I tell them I'm a "democratic republican... because the republicans allow me to earn enough so that I can afford to be democratic".

Personally I never give to people just panhandling on the corner or at the offramp etc. I have a very short list of charities that we like and that's it. I own McDonalds stock - and eat there very LITTLE (really only if I'm hauling the trailer somewhere)... but when I do - I always slip some money into the Ronald McDonald House collection box. My sister in law works in the kids cancer ward as a nurse and I hear the stories... The only thing I 'bought' last year at Barrett Jackson was a donation to the Victory Junction Kids camp.

One of our friends ran the Gates Foundation until a couple years ago... and I always would argue with her about their "off shore" funding because I felt that there was so much more they could do "right here". But that's a personal issue and needs to be decided by each individual, and if that's what Bill wants to do, then so be it.

That video was great Greg. Kudos for posting it.

It reminded me of a man I knew. He was a very humble, soft spoken fellow who hated notoriety. He helped people from every station of life 24/7. He wasn't rich as the wold defines 'rich'. To hear people talk about him, you realize money couldn't buy what he gave to them.

Back in 2009 when he passed on at age 57, at the memorial serrvice over 8000 people attended.

I've heard it said 'You are remembered for the problems you create ... or the problems you solve.'

Any of us can solve some sort of problem for someone else.

The Generosity Factor by Ken Blanchard is an awesome read (or audio book) on a rich man and is even based on a real person. I highly recommend it.
Thanks Gregg, take a trip to St Judes if you ever get a chance....it WILL BE life changing!

I honestly have to say that I don't think I'm enough of a man, to be able to handle that.

That is the ONLY charity I give to on a regular basis

I do give to others, but just once in a while
