I agree with you, Joe. The cars are the stars of the movie just as much as the actors. Sure the action/driving sequences are impossible but they were impossible in Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, The Dukes of Hazard, etc etc. and that didn't stop people from enjoying them or liking the cars then either. I'm not expecting a cinematic master piece but I know I'll be entertained none the less.
