Default "Project Aftermath" (69 Camaro SS), updated 12/14/06

I posted a couple months ago about this car and plans have changed drastically and the build has started. Car is a original X55 350/3 speed true "SS" car that we "cut up". Just makes your original more valueable!! lol Sorry guys I'm just not a original guy!

Parts are arriving daily by the truck loads it seems. Car is a high dollar build that is being built as the new shop car, but like everything will be for sale once done for the right amount. I am basically trying to one up myself on "Project Shop Beater" that I just sold. This car I plan to keep and enjoy as every 69 Camaro I have owned (6) have only been around a few months at most after being finished. So I am building this one exactly like I want! The body is done, and in primer. We actually purchased this body from Mike's Custom cars in Carolina. When I decided to build another car after finishing "shop beater' I was to busy in my shop with customers to get a car in and redo teh sheetmetal for myself. So I contacted Mike and he ahd this one, so we agreed on a price and got it home. If I ever have another project that requires a complete ground up build, I'll be buying another car from him! He is great to work with and does a damn good job! Car has every new panel available and some that aren't yet. Oh well enough of this crap lets get into the build.

Body:
-All new Sheetmetal, quarters, roof, rockers (inner and outer) floor pans, trunk pans, DSE tubs, tailpanel, firewall, dash, two panels, everything known to man
-Paint will be PPG 5873B Nissan Silver Mist, same color as "Shop Beater" but will be adding a Black Hockey stripe this time
-Shaved handles, and emblem holes
-tailpanel and front grille blacked out
-Stock 69 spoiler
-Chrome bumpers with rear bumper guards
-Marquez complete light package
-DSE headlights
-Full GM RS frontend with DSE conversion
-Prodigy Customs Tinted glass set
-all I can think of right now

Wheels and Tires:
-Intro ID Luxury brand #ID307
-18x8 front with 245/40 Michelins
-20x12 rear with 335/30 Michelins(extensive work being done to tubs and outer wheel houses to tuck these wheels)

Motor/Drivetrain:
-
402 LS2 built by Dave Diluca with CDNperf, shooting for 550rwhp!
-Harrop hurrican intake (cause I have been in love since seeing Fuel's, and I just got to have on too)
-ATS motor mounts and other goodies
-ATS stainless headers
-ATS preparred T-56 tranny
-DSE t-56 mount
-Rick's stainless tank with in tank pump
-Mcleod clutch
-ATS oilpan
-Moser Ford 9" 35 spline axles, and Detroit Truetrac
-14" wilwood 6 piston front and 13" 4 piston rear

Suspension:
-DSE front Speed kit 3. upper and lower arms, coilover kit, steering box, tie rods, sway bar, etc
-DSE Quadralink, 4-link
-DSE subframe connectors
-Stock subframe fully welded and some metal added to smooth the lines out a little more

Interior:
-Still up in the air but do know the following
-10 point cage
-4 point harness
-Sparcos or similiar
-MArquez door panels
-DSE dash insert
-Custom center console
-4th gen camaro rear seats
-Full competition ready stereo system

Thats all I can think of right now, I'll continually update this thread weekly or daily as things happen. Debut day for the car is sometime n January!

Here's a old pic. Car after primer, with complete GM rs front end in boxes underneath and tons of parts that came off the original car

[B]Here's a couple of pics the work Mike's Custom cars did to the shell

Christmas does come in August. Everything DSE makes for a 69 Camaro , thanks to GPsuperstore for the help aquiring this stuff. Even though I am shop DSE still would not give me a break.

No still using the DSE tubs. From the looks of it with just using the tires, it appears my biggest problem is going to be the outer wheelhouse. The width is not to big of deal till I try to set the rear way down low like I like it!! I am still waiting on the wheels to get here and to get the car on the rotisserie and get it upside down and see how much trouble I'll really have.
