It only works if your surrounding law enforcement agency supports it. There units are hit with a signal once your car is reported stolen and the police get a signal as to the general area your car is in. My wife works for the PD and they recover stolen cars all the time. I think it's worth the piece of mind for the money and time invested in most of our cars.

I had heard about that, do know if when they were wiring them, if they were 'powerring' the cell phones? I was told to do that when my TBSS was jacked, but wondered about battery life....

kill switches dont work when a flat bed is taking it...which somebody was telling me last week how their ride was stolen....

My question is - why would you think anyone would want to steal your car?

Yes, it was activated. However, I had to constantly reactivate the service as the key fobs routinely wouldn't work. I had the reps out several times to inspect the system and they couldn't find what was wrong with it. Scrapped it altogether when it came time to renew.

Yes they get hits all the time. My wife says it's easier to located the cars. If they're within a half mile radius the police units pick up the signal. At her department they don't stop looking once they have the signal until its found. You can't base everything off one persons experience Positive or negative. It's like saying "I got in a car accident so you shouldn't buy a car they're dangerous".
