How about when on track at the same time? I'm pretty sure at some point you will be able to drive that car to its potential and then the standings will get shuffled.

For now you have to settle for beating Red Vett's and move up to Mustangs.

And it doesn't matter one bit. I had a blast ripping around in this car at Sonoma. So blessed that it is my home track at only 1 hour away. If only more of the Shelby Club participants didn't think they were running Nascar. I will be trying out some other local groups as there are many.

Greg is a very capable driver I have come to find out. Up until recently he didn't give himself very much credit.

Greg is gonna me a MONSTER in the 70 Stang.....

THAT is the point I wish everyone that does this stuff would get. This is not spec class racing, where it's all about the driver. These cars are all completely different.

Go out -- drive to your ability (at the time) -- and enjoy the entire process -- fixing -- learning -- dicing -- dreaming -- and spending time with your buddies.

I'm so impressed with Rob's driving -- because he's running with me despite being down 200+ HP.... I'm not saying that I'm fast so he must be good.... I'm saying that the two cars are a mile apart HP wise --- so he's making up time in the corners and elsewhere despite me being able to out drag race him in the straights. The cars are a mile apart - I have HP - He has aero - he has some serious talent and it shows. A little more seat time and some suspension tweaks - and I'll be following him around. THE KEY is that we have a blast. Not another single thing matters.

The Porsche guy didn't come up to us and say how fast he normally is -- or was -- or that his car is this and he's all that...... He came up to us excited about having had so much fun! Period. His wife was excited because she saw that we were having a blast. Anyone that's done this knows what I'm talking about. It's not about the size of your balls.

I HOPE that Daves' new car works out and he gets some seat time in the car.... figures out what He needs to do, or what the car needs (maybe nothing) and he finds enough days to get out on track. Well -- not too many -- I don't want him running 1:59's too soon.... I got to get that new car built and quick!!! LOL

LOL.. That's hilarious.

You might not remember it was so many years ago... first time... new car... new track... Sonoma.... pretty intimidating! And add 45 cars per group with the Shelby Club... there is a LOT going on....

my favorite part of the weekend (and when I knew sh!t was REAL) was the red plus and green drivers meeting.... nearly 100 guys... they ask for a show of hands of who has NOT driven the track ..... no one raises their hand. LOL. Well I sure as hell was not going to be the only one raising my hand in there.

And then it was "here we go".... I just got giddy thinking back on that.

And the LS3 -there is an accusump as well

I thought we had moved past the "friend" stage, I'm your #1 fan!
Don't forget the list of "to do's" before heading out on track...Greg's buddy Andy had it taped to his steering wheel.
Ignition
Fans
ACCUSUMP
....you get it.

Did you ever get the details on the motor?
Hey Bash, I missed this. Yes I think we did graduate didn't we?

I did not get the details... John Griggs was/is looking for them... so all I know is LS3 with some kind of cam. It sounds healthy!

Yes the checklist was pretty much a fail at any given time that day.
