Default LS2 is officially bolted in project Frankenvette!

I realize a 1985 Vette is not exciting...but I am deep deep deep in getting this wrapped up. Much more to come.

I used a junk LS1 to test fit, cut/weld, and mount the LS motor. This is running a late model 4L60E from a Silverado (tail shaft presents some unique challenges as the 85 Vette trans cross member is a breed of its own called a C beam and running front to rear).

The complication of this job is the fact I had to also straighten the frame and replace all kinds of panels from a collision AND - of course re-paint the car and rebuild the entire suspension.

Results:

85 Vette with 91-96 Panels
One-off custom VB&P adapters to mount comp gray C6 wheels
C5 red powder coated brake upgrade
All poly bushings - bilstein shocks
PURE black PPG base/clear concept 2021
TCI streetfighter TC w/ TCI shift kit - 4L60E
1992-98 Buick/Olds sidemirrors
New GM Performance LS2 (L92 head/intake - hot cam on the way)
Pacesetter C5 headers (bolted right in)
Stock drive shaft length

More here - including the ridiculous true story of how this is the 3rd time I have owned this car, and the second time I bought it back in boxes.

There is no engine/trans in the car in these photos so it is sitting up like a truck.

I love those 'Vettes... thought of getting one instead of my ASC/McLaren, but I thought the McLaren would be a bit more easy for my wife.

Lookin' good!

Shiny Side Up!
