Default Holley carb question

Ok, one of the first times I was in my car and went to stop very fast the car died and my hydroboost lost pressure and just about lost the ability to stop. I was lucky. Now the car is back in the shop with a completely different set up yet this still very much bugs me in the back of my mind. It's a holly carb set up, and would like to be able to run the car as fast as I like and have the ability to stop quickly without it shutting off, making my brakes useless. What can we do to fix this? Will a mechanical pump help with this Jody?
