This Sunday, July 15th, Art Center is hosting the 7th annual Art Center Car Classic, our annual celebration of the best in automotive design.

This year's theme is Dream Machines: Imagination Gone Wild, and we have an incredible field of vehicles and two outstanding speakers lined up.

Our confirmed speakers are Luigi Colani and Harald Belker.

Luigi Colani, known for his unique philosophy on design, has created everything from high performance automobiles and aircraft to household products. He is returning to Art Center 20 years after his last visit to share his highly imaginative approach to automotive design.

Art Center alumnus Harald Belker has designed such iconic vehicles for the entertainment industry as the 1997 Batmobile, Minority Report Lexus, and even the Cat in the Hat car. He will talk about the unique aspects of designing vehicles for Hollywood.

Vehicles on display include such lavish examples of design as:
Bill Marriot’s 1938 Talbot Lago Figoni & Falaschi roadster
Peter Mullin’s 1939 Delahaye Figoni & Falaschi "World's Fair" car
Ray Scherr’s 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster
Lorenzo Zambrano’s 1956 Alfa Romeo "Superflow II" concept and 1935 DeSoto Airflow
The debut of Scott Grunford’s newly restored 1955 Ghia "Gilda" dream car
Dean Jeffries' 1963 Mantaray
The Alfa Romeo BAT cars 5, 7 and 9
Bizzarinis, Lamborghinis and a nice field of Ferraris
The Minority Report Lexus
George Barris’ newly restored Monkeemobile, and more!
