Default Hydraulic clutch adjustment

In my setup with the LS1 and T56 I now have a problem were I need a little bit more engagement in the clutch.

When I set up the brackets and pedal it worked just fine but after that I have added insulation and sound deadening material and last the floormat. all this added up to a distance that prevents the clutch to fully engage.

I have been thinking of modifying the pushrod so that I can adjust it. I will thread the pushrod and put on a heimjoint.

My question is now, have someone done something like it and can share the experience?
