Default porportioning valve help

I am finishing up a rear Quadra link and rear disc Baer brake change to my 69 camaro. I installed a porportining vavle along the subframe drivers side. Its been there a year since I did the front end. The brake lines and porportioning valve are from Classic tube (per Baer brakes). I've beed running around for a year with the knob on the valve screwed all the way out. I had trouble bleeding the new rears this way. So I looked at the knob, and increase is screwed all the way in and decrease is all the way out. With it screwed all the way in to increase the bleed went better and I think I got it. Even though the valve has been ther a year, I knew I didnt need it because I had rear drum. But I put it in knowing I was going to upgrade the rear to disc. Is screwed all the way in toward increase where it should be for full rear brake application? Am I headed in the right direction? Thanks guys.
