late model gm door handle in 68 camaro help needed

im to the point that i need to get the exterior door handles ready and the billet guys i guess never had time to get there version done,so i will be going with the rounded flush handles that ive seen some go with.
my question is this how big of a deal is it to get the door handle to mate to the old camaro lock system.im hopeing someone that has been there done that can walk me thrue the mating of the two.
