It's easy to say -- "someone should" -- but these things take massive amounts of work -- and the minute you start to "run it" - you have lability 'risk' if something happens to someone along the way... and on and on and on...

Even our little car club - Northwest Classic Chevy Club - keeps a D&O policy. We run a "tri five only" show (Just happens to be the largest one in the WORLD with 300 '55/ '56 / '57 CHEVYS only) ... and if someone gets hurt... we're going to be on the hook.

In order to make it 'worthwhile' to the vendors you'd want to stop to see - it needs the backing of a publication. They (the vendors) need the milage out of the advertising... So as much as I 'agree' with you. It's just too much to ask someone to do.
