Default Prepping chrome parts...

Hey guys, I don't post much in the "building" sections lol (Artist)

I find myself tackling detail work, like restoring my stainless and aluminum trim, I have a great deal of patience when it comes to this, tapping/pounding out dents, filing, and polishing...

I feel I could build my own car some day, I would start tonight if I had the major tools...welder, torches, hammers/dollies and what not. I love learning, and reading everything you guys have to post.

I have a few trim pieces that's chromed steel, pieces like the vent window housings and such...How do you guys restore these? Does it involve welding up every single pit? That seems like you'd be welding a whole layer on to it, which doesnt seem right...Is there a metal filler I can use? (You can't chrome bondo) lol

I've heard before you use brass as filler? I guess that still involves welding... Any recommendations?

Thanks.
