Porsche Guys?

Being a new California guy, I figure its time that my daily driver not be a Jeep (Loved my three grand cherokees in New England snow), but its time for some fun.

I looked at a couple older Porsches yesterday. 1986 Carrera and some late 90's 993's. The biggest issue! No leg room. Plenty of headroom, but no way I can comfortably shift and sit for long periods. I am 6'4". Dealer is checking what it would take to move the seat rails and how much we can gain. But in the meantime, any Porsche guys on here that have any advice on what to be looking for? Some of these seem like deals, but want to make sure I am looking with knowledge.

Also, my god I thought insurance rates in NYC were bad, but I have gotten some insane quotes! S4 - 5k. C63 AMG - 6k, Base A4/3 Series - 3k. The old Porsche's are the cheapest.
