Default LY6 to 4L60e - wrong flexplate...

Hey guys,

I was so excited to have been able finally install my engine and trans in my project car - 2008 LY6 with a 2000 4L60e from an F-body that I managed to miss one "small" detail and I am about to cry now...

When I went out there last night I was getting ready to mate up the converter with the flexplate when I noticed the holes were ever so slightly off...like a 1/4 of a bolt diameter. I also noticed that I had a lot more flexplate holes than converter holes when it dawned on me that I mounted a 4l80e flexplate to the crank. It is pushed out with a spacer but I am not sure if it is far enough out...i.e. fitting into the center of the spacer.

That aside, here is my question and I cannot believe I am even entertaining this, but I have done this in the past - could I elongate the bolt hole the little bit necessary to mate with the converter and if I can are the 4L60e converter holes 120 degrees apart? I would assume so, and I know this sounds ghetto, but I took so much care getting that thing in it is going to be a nightmare to have to pull it out...again.

Let me know if I am crazy here...thanks! Any suggestions are appreciated. I have another flexplate on the way...just really don't want ot have toe pull it again, but will if that is the only way.
Dave
