Bent rod question

I was cruising criagslist tonight looking for an LS engine. I found an LS2 with a 6 speed from an 05 GTO. The ad states it has a bent rod and tranny needs sychros. For 1400 OBO.

Question one: is it worth rebuilding a block with a bent rod? I know it can open a big can of worms once I get into it.

Question B: what tranny came in 05 GTO's

Question 3: if it's worth rebuilding the engine and tranny. Would $1000 be worth it? The ad clearly states he needs to get rid of it.

I have not called or looked into the ad anymore than reading it. I just don't want to waste the time and energy on it if it's junk to begin with.
