Default clutch problems

its a 305 v8, muncie 4 speed, stock replacment clutch, with a "racing" throwout bearing.

the clutch is draging just enoungh so when i have the pedal all the way down the input shaft still spins and it cant go into reverse. but if i put it in 1st then reverse its fine.

i didnt do the swap. the mechanic that replaced the throwout bearing last year said its a "race part" and wount last long yet he replaced it with the same part and not a stock style one.

i was also told its not a muncie bellhousing so he had to cut the flywheel to get the spacing right.

i think its the master cylinder, it has about 1 to 1.5 inches of play. what do you guys think?
