Synthetic Leathers--Need Advice

I am looking for some advice on whether to use synthetic leather. I know some of the synthetic stuff looks really nice but is it any good to use?

I think am leaning towards synthetic because it's more affordable and probably easier to use for a novice like myself. I would love to hear some opinions or experiences.

Also I'm looking for a place to buy the material as well. If anyone has any recommendations or products they've used and really liked, please share. Thanks!
