Default Bonding Fiberglass to Metal

Is there a way to bond fiberglass to metal and hide the blend, in a way that lasts? I figure the secret is in having a large transfer area, but I don't know if that really works.

The idea is to bond fiberglass widened rear quarters on a 240Z. The quarters look like this:
