Default control arm tubing size

What size Dom tubing should be used for the upper link of a 3 link suspension? Is 1 1/4 inch diameter .120 wall ok, or shall I go bigger? 3500 lb ish car, around 500 hp. What about tube size for a watts link, 1 1/8 .95 wall ok, or should that be bigger?
