sema tickets

I'm sorta new to all of this sema stuff. I know that it's an exclusive event for automobile insiders and all, but I read on the forum somewhere that some guy was having trouble getting in due to first year going issues or something. Does anyone have the low down on how to get into sema? I tried the website but it seemed that you had to pick from a list of buisinesses, which I'm not on. I'm the metal guy/fabricator to a new custom fab company and from what it seems, I won't see sema this year. Please shed some light on this.
