Problem with buying a classic car.

I've been trying to help my uncle buy a 1969 Camaro for the past year. Every time we find a solid car with a decent price. we call the owner and all is good until he hits us with that "my name is not under the title". Have you guys ever had this problem? Seems like every car I see on craigslist the person selling it is not the owner. Which is a red flag to me. Just had to get that off my chest. happy holidays
