Default Project Terminator Camaro-An American Supercar by Fast Lane Performance ATL

Goal: To create an American Supercar. I believe the term "Supercar" is relative. I believe a "Supercar" is a vehicle that is an over achiever. Something that is spectacular on a road course going through turns, yet is very fast and thrilling in a straight line, but could also be driven on the streets. To me, one of the things that really puts a car in the super car category is very phenomenal engineering feats such as balance, huge cooling ducts, aerodynamics, big oil coolers, etc. And lastly, something "luxury". I think the "luxury" ties it all together. Not to get confused with comfortable, as a 10 hour trip in an Aventador really isn't too pleasant, but its "nice". Leather/suede interior, nicely designed dash/controls. I want this thing to laugh at modern cars such as C7Z06s, Viper ACR, Porsche GT3s, and put an Aventador, or maybe even a Koenigsegg up for its money. Am a crazy? Probably. But lets give it a shot.

The Shop:

The shop doing the work is Fast Lane Performance located in Atlanta Georgia. Super nice shop with great group of talented guys! From tube chassis, cages, to performance work for new and old American muscle cars. (Camshafts, Superchargers, Etc)

Quick Run down

Chassis: We are going with a full tube chassis. It's going to be rigid, but hopefully still pretty light when finished.

Suspension: Cantilever Front and Rear suspension.

Engine: LSX Based Twin Turbo

Transmission: Thinking of the GM 10 Speed. Something different. Which says alot because I am a huge Manual guy. I've never owned an Automatic before.

Body: 1975 Camaro. Why 1975? Because I have never seen a super cool 74-77 Pro touring camaro for obvious reasons. We will be doing a 1970 split bumper conversion though.

Quick CAD Models to just give an idea.

Phase 1 - Tear Down of Camaro

The car was found for sale at a Storage Unit. The body was straight, so it made a decent candidate, considering we only needed a shell. We started stripping away everything we don't need.
