Default Mocking up a T-56

Hey guys,

I am wanting to make a weld in style cross member a la DSE. In order to do this I want to mock up a T-56 to my car to figure out where to cut the tunnel etc. My question is, i do not want to go out to D&D or G-Force and buy a $3500 transmission just yet, are all T-56 casings the same? Can i go to a scrap yard and get a casing with a hole in it to use for mock up and fab?

I looked at that PAYR company that does the polypropelene replica parts, but they dont have a t-56... would be nice if they did.

Let me know your thoughts.
