If that's park, it looks fine, what about the transmission side?

How many bends in the cable? How tight is the bend radius? How is the alignment, does the inner cable travel in a straight line in and out of the housing?

After that, disconnect the cable from the column. Does the shifter travel smoothly? Is there slop in the shifter mechanism in the column? I fixed one a couple months back where the column had been taken apart for paint and put together by someone who was not so bright. They left a bushing out and the shift mechanism was bound up in the column.
