I don’t like the look or function of hood pins. I have run a stock hood latch on most of my cars.

We ran a test at work to see the force on a hood latch on a 2008 CTSv at 190 mph. It was over 300 lbs of force trying to pull the latch open.

I have not had an issue with the stock latch with my Carbon Fiber hood. But we have a big steel reinforcement plate in the hood that the latch bolts into.

If you want to be 100% sure do some old school hood pins. I personally hate them.

I can say at 170 mph in my cars you can see the corners of the hood being forced up by the under hood pressure. Another reason I have hood vents.
