Default Picked up Complete Cutler BBC EFI

I just snagged a Cutler BBC oval port setup that is complete with computer, TB, harness, intake, harness, etc. I mainly wanted it for the hardware parts, as I'm not sure if the computer is worth messing with anymore.

From what I've read it was a self learning setup (I guess they were all that way as I can't find anything but info on that type) so it won't need a laptop. I would rather just tune it myself for obvious reasons so I'm in need of a ECU to control it all.

On summitracing a C950 goes for $1000 with harness, which is higher than I would rather spend. I know about megasquirt, but I'd rather stay with a ecu type that will be easier to get help with. Is it possible to pick up an older ECU with wide band control that would work rather than the latest and greatest. If so, which one's should I be looking for?

Thanks,
Kerry
