I think it's just a lack of understanding of the hobby..

Have no ac/no heat.. no radio.. a cage, mini-tubs, trick suspension, huge brakes and yet I'm not "pro-touring" because I have don't have a full chassis (even though my front sub is connected to my rear frame)

That would mean the list of "pro-touring" cars would be very small. I'm in the same class as a (example) '69 Camaro with power everything, more of the show-touring deal that's more on the street rod side.

Maybe they need a pro-touring, street-touring, and street-fighter class.

Are there ANY pro-touring cars at the show? I don't think even Chycane even has a tube/aftermarket chassis..

It's thier first year for this class, they just need to iron out the details.

no, no, no.. don't think I'm "bent" or upset.. I just found the definition funny considering what we all consider "pro-touring". Then again, in the car show world it may make prefect sense. I'm sure the goal was to keep the "average joe" from having to compete against the all out show car.

I went for three reasons.

Wilwood wanted me there by thier booth, Best Of Show wanted me there to promote thier shop, and it seemed like fun because I've never had a car in the GNRS.

Hey, I talked to one of the judges and got the scoop.
You should get copy of there rules on the pro touring builds. After looking at what the list showed it basically means your car with a tube chassis and some more along the lines of a full race interior. The judges happend to be a guy Ive met in northern california and he lives there he gave me the run down and from the only thing missing on bad penny is really a tube chassis.
