James,

You are making great progress. The car/fab and design is just awesome. One of the badest builds imo. You must be pumped. Look forward to the painted pictures even though I am little jealous

Thanks AJ,

I am debating that myself right now. My initial plan was to paint the spoiler grey and leave the splitter portion natural aluminum but we have now been considering painting the spoiler portion body color and either leaving the splitter natural or painting it grey. I think that decision will be made once the car is in color.

I'll have to take some more pictures tonight and tomorrow...

One last piece of business that we wanted to get to before paint was running the AC lines in the engine compartment. We tucked the Vintage Air bulkhead high under the passenger fender and although it was ideal for hiding the lines there, it really made getting them hooked up more of an exercise as a contortionist than a builder. Suprisingly they cooperated from the start and we were able to get all of the hoses run with a fraction of the cussing that I used during the original mock up.

We'll clean the hoses up a bit after paint but I think we were able to run them with minimal clutter.

Well, it's been two and half years since we started on the '67 and we are finally in the paint booth this weekend. Yesterday was dedicated to the last of the clean up after it's final wet sanding:

and we got the car masked for paint... unfortunately, as is usually the case, my camera battery died after the first couple of pieces:

It's masked now and Chris just wanted to spend a bit more time on the hood (the carbon fiber has proven a challenge to get ready for paint) and give the trunk lid one final pass before starting the paint. Of course today is the hottest day of the year so he was thinking about starting a little later in the day to make the process a bit more bearable.

James the car looks awesome and I can't wait to see some color on it. Get some fresh batteries for that camera!
