No I would never do that to another company, we make our own products and we sell other products. These are made in house and we have a box full of them for $59.95 a set.

Default Lets get something something straight here.

SERPA69 just for the record they were designed by someone well before Marquez even thought about doing them. Marquez is a great guy and designs and builds cool stuff but the market is open for all of us.

We have been building parts for years and people have asked us to make parts that they can’t get from other suppliers. If there is a market and people want it we will build it.

Our taillights have been done for several years but we were not in the parts business then. We are now and times have changed and I know as well as Marquez if you don’t keep people and dealers happy someone else will.

We both make lots of cool stuff and things will change over and there is nothing that either of us can do. I also do fender braces so I guess that I got that from Twist Machine as well. Wrong someone was doing them many years before and we just offered something different that goes with our hinges. I also have 20 applications for hinges with more coming out every month and many more tail lights Chevelle and Nova, marker lights for Chevelle, Nova, Camaro and other billet accessories for all sorts of cars. So who would you say that I am copying these from???? Get real is BFG copying Pirelli or did they redesign the tire.

I am out there to fill a spot on parts that most people don’t have, I might make something that someone else has but that is business and we build 10+ cars a year so we have lots of parts coming out from them. Why buy them when I can build them in house and sell them as well. If you like one company more than the other or are already buying parts from them you may want something else they have. I will continue to sell Marquez’ stuff until he tells me otherwise and would hope that he would be interested in selling my stuff.

I am not going to defend anyone here. But I will voice my take on this.

We started making Billet Hood pins and then another vendor started making Billet Hood Pins that looked similar to ours and no one said boo about it. I was upset at first but then I realized it's a free world and whom ever markets there's better will be the one to sell more.

As far as Marquez is concerned he make a great product. But I know factually that he has been having problem shipping his tail lights since a very good friend of mine has been waiting almost a year for his lights. He's been patient and hasn't said a word for fear of this BB slaming him.

There is plenty of stuff that I plan to buy from Marquez, Ring Brothers & now Fessler for my next project. And If these door striker will work on my truck heck the money is on the way as we speak.

okay sorry for my little rant - i feel better now. Actually i didn't feel bad before.

Keep it civilized, when someone engineers new parts from scratch and does all the patent work, testing, etc. then are blatantly copied that's wrong, but these parts are far from newly engineered.

Have a good one.

Your Right, There probably isn’t any patent work for Marquez tail lights, door strikers, turn signals, or Ring Brothers hood hinges. But don’t you think these parts remarkably similar???? If people want to hide behind “Our taillights have been done for several years but we were not in the parts business then. We are now and times have changed and I know as well as Marquez if you don’t keep people and dealers happy someone else will.” I guess that is the answer. I am sorry for using the word copy, perhaps reproduction is a better choice of words.

I was referring to the door strikers only. Tail lights and other parts are not what started this thread. Their are a variety of manufacturers for the same type parts and where they are purchased from is up to the individual. The only problem I had was you blasted him with both barrells over flippen door strikers.

Those look good. I think I will get a set also. IMO these are commodity type products and on door strikers, Marquez did not event them.....I think Ralph Nadar did. Maybe he should be mad. Sure Marquez made them in billet but I would think others had done it also. I can see how people would look at it like a copy as his (Marquez)were promoted on this board first. In the big picture the first guy to make billet wheels could not have expected to be the sole source for such wheels. Competition is good for the consumer and both companies in this thread make what look like quality parts
