From the look of that pic, the track does not look consistent front to rear. From a pure aesthetic standpoint, if you can, I would move the rears in to make it look right. Unless that pic angle is deceiving...

Sweet Camaro though!

Hey Chris! If you have the room I would look into moving the wheels in. Now would you do that by narrowing the rear axle or reworking the wheels? That's a welded wheel right?

Did you roll the lips at all?

Now that you have driven the car...a little. What are your over all thoughts on the car?

Are you still looking at selling? Love it man!!

well I have lots of room on the inside the wheels are only 10's on a 295/19 and I mini-tubbed it- I think i would have the rear-end narrowed- it would be cheaper and quicker for me.

the lips are trimmed and rolled- the tire just hits on articulated turns

as far as driving impressions- still too fresh- only about 10 miles and lots of tire rub...a little nerve racking. LOTS OF POWER

I want to sell the car in the early spring so I can finance the next one. I want to continue to build 'em until I can do it for a living. There are alot of things I want to try on the next one- thanks again for your support- hopefully you will be my Stainless Works dealer in the future- Chris

i think you are right, the big difference is the front was touching in the pic I raised it up about 2" in the front, but the rears do track wider- do you think 1/2 narrower is enough?

Man, I dunno. It looks like more than 1/2" diff in tha pic. Do you have any other pics of the car front to rear almost straight on so you can see both tires and how far they tuck in or stick out? I had to redo my front wheel because I messed up the backspacing and it was sticking out way too far.

I noticed that when I saw that photo a couple of weeks ago. I would definitely cut the rear end, but get a second opinion from a builder...maybe Frank at Prodigy. He's extremely helpful. Post pictures when you finish it. Also, post some interior pictures when you get a chance.

Hope you live up away from the Puyallup river... My inlaws had to evacuate last night... Hope you, your family, and the Camaro are safe and sound...

Chris I had the same problem on my 72 Camaro. I had to move my wheels in 1 inch to keep them from rubbing the fenders on cornering. I am running 17X11 TT II Americans. And yes I did roll the lips. The tires are 315-35-17 BFGs. I had tons of room inboard as I relocated the leaf springs 6 inches inboard, but I went with the standard 5.75 offset. I could have come out ok running a 67-69 rear as they are 1 inch narrower than the stock 72 10-bolt. I wasnt aware of this fact at the time I was building the car though. So I had the wheel centers cut and moved inboard 1 inch on both sides. Works fine now and looks better on track too!

I live up on the hill - but they had to evacuate my work...tide was out and the river was running high and fast. if the tide would have been opposite it might have been a major ordeal
