Default weak field

Iam not surprised that this year is weak comapred to 2005,2006,2007. The stock market and economy started going down the drain in 2007, which is when you would have had to start your project to compete today. Not too many people felt like spending a million bucks on a ridler contender in 2007. Hopefully succesive years will improve as the economy does and the rebirth of GM and Chrysler. The new technology loooks promising. Ford's new 5.0, and Hotrod mag already featured a 32 rod with their ecoboost twin turbo v6 in it!!

The future still looks bright. can;t wait to see a 66 fastback built with the new 5.0 or ecoboost twin turbo. should be able to get 500 hp easy from that, now just need a 6 speed twinclutch paddleshift. good to go!

ridler 2013 should raise the bar again from troy's "first love' 34 ford

I agree, other than the Dodge truck, most of the "Great Eight" don't have the WOW factor but I don't think the economy has effected the cost of some of those builds.

Dodge Truck = Probably 7 figures
The Packard = At least $500,000 Plus
32 Roadster = At least $400,000 Plus
Gold 33 Phaeton = At least $400,000 Plus
Black 33 Vicky = $200 - $300,000
Blue 34 ford = $200 - $300,000
Green 33 ford = $175 - $250,000
37 Chevy = $150 - $200,000

These are all guestimates but I think this years build cost is pretty consistent with years hence.

Just got back. We had the black over green 34 with the hemi in it that was in the great 8. Pics dont do the colors justice. There were alot of nice cars there but you have to see them in person.

It has a 547 inch Hemi in that put 1284 ftlbs on the ground and has a jerico 4-speed. Its was built to be fast and is fully caged.

The reason the yellow and flamed car did not make it is the underside fiberglass was just painted over. The guy did the car all himself in his garage and then had some one paint it. It was a cool car.
