Coolwelder built the C6 front clip on my 73 Camaro I purchased from him. It's a work of art, very nicely done. I'll be posting pics when I start the build thread, need to clear out a couple friends cars here to make room to work on the Camaro.
I went through the same decision process with my first gen. When I compared the cost of the AME subframe which allows use of the factory Fbody accessories (including the AC compressor) and oil pan and C5/6 brakes to upgrading a stock subframe with ATS spindles, Chicane coilover mounts, control arms etc etc plus a conversion oil pan and aftermarket accessories (no Kwik Performance option at that time) the cost was almost a wash. It went together without a hitch and was one of the better purchases I made on my build. Customer service is excellent and Matt has been very helpful answering my questions etc. There are not that many products out there where you can ask questions directly to the engineer who designed them and get an answer usually the same day.
AME! You know its going to work... and you can push the car to its fullest limit
not cruise around at 40mph only and im not referring to Coolwelders clip thought id add that

Jody
Jody, I have to say I love all of your builds and your attention to detail is second to none. I can't wait to see your 2nd gen.
Thank's. I cant wait for a Jody to get his new project up and rolling. The sub frame under Jody's camaro was the first of the 2nd gen's I have built, 5 in total now. I have built about 15 1st gen sub frames. Now I am just finishing up a c6 bolt on sub frame for 62-67 chevy II novas.Good luck w/ your project.Scott
