I didn't see anything in the rules about checking the DOT on the helmet - will it be okay to run one that isn't the current model?

Here's the helmet rule -

1) Helmet use is to be required during any competitive event with the exception of street driving.

We didn't specify the Snell rating but most track day events require the use of a Snell 2005 certified helmet. Use your own judgement - maybe it's time to retire the cool custom painted helmet and drop a couple dead presidents on a new one.
