So I was just checking to see if you got something to work. Thanks.
Based on the measurements the original poster came up with, I'd agree that a 9" with a 6.25" should work as well. Have you measured the distance from your rotor hat to the outer fender? What do you come up with?

Thanks Jon. Unfortunately the subframe is not in the car yet, it's sitting on jackstands.

Maybe Mikamaro would be so kind and take this measurement?

Ok, I put the whole thing together, swapped out the subframes and measured this. It is 5-5/16" from the hat to the unrolled fender lip.
Base on this measuremeant, to make the 18X9 with a 275 the same distance to the fender lip as the factory ralley with a 235, the BS needs to be 5.75". I am considering going 6.0" to give me a quarter inch more clearance because I am going to be pretty low.
Does this sound right?

Got to remember the difference in diameter of the tire. Mine fit fine w/ the the wheels straight. w/ the wheel turned, the larger diameter of the 285/40 tire hits the back of the wheel well where the 245/40 easily clears. Moving the wheel in towards the hat/frame moves the tire away from the back of the wheel well (when the front of the wheel is turned out). My wheels have 5.75" bs. If you look back at the pics to see where it hit, I was at just about 1 full turn of the steering wheel. 6.75" feels like it would look super tucked and dorky but maybe not. Maybe your '69 has more room at the aft fender and this won't be an issue for you as it is for me.

Mike
