it would certainly be very similar, but i think a slightly more racey version would be way cooler... and as similar as the ford gt looks, i think the mk2 gt-40 is still better looking

maybe with a set of slightly more modern wheels and whatever motor you want, really.

-also, i think the ferrari transaxle would be a pretty cool twist, just because of the ferrari-gt40 rivalry

Call me crazy, but...

How cool would it be if you build a rear-mid engined Corvette? Like a modern Corvair or something like that.

A pro touring gt 40 ! (albeit touring cars really have back seats) the above car with alittle lower and agressive stance, some forgeline, rims and GT1 or ALMS size rubber and an LS9, or stack injected Viper v10 (not sure it would would fit though)

Last year when Eric and I got the privilege to tour Tom Hanna's shop on our way to Columbus. We saw his project to build a 300mph super car. His plan was to have it powered by a 5" bore spacing big block, that would be hooked to some kind of rear transaxle that could spit out a front drive shaft to power the front axle. The front drive shaft would spin through the cam bore in the block since it would be a DOHC engine. He already had the carbon fiber monocoque chassis built. This is a picture of the clay body that had laid up in his shop.

Well point being ever since I saw this car I have been thinking about doing a supercar design. I love the GT40 and the Ford GT is my favorite supercar. But They won't fit tall guys like me in them. It would be cool to do a modernized Gt40 one off kinda car.

Tyler B and myself were discussing putting that trans in one of these cars. Taking the easy way out. http://www.superlitecars.com/coupe_spec.html

Had you given any thought about the Factory Five GTM? The kit is cheaper, mostly C5 based (spare parts are plentiful), and still along the same lines.

That is where the new E-rod engine come into play. GM Performance parts is rumored to have an E-rod LS9 engine coming very soon. Shoot for that fact an LS7 would be plenty of power in 2200lbs car.

HHMMMMM.
