'67 10 bolt or '98 LS1 rear???

Another option you could look into are the 8.5" 10 bolts I think they started making them in 1971 there are millions of them out there and they are almost as strong as a 12 bolt. Check out this article http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...all/index.html

That is what I am running in my car. There are different widths on those. I think the one that is the same width as a camaro is from 73-79 Chevy Nova, Oldsmobile Omega, Pontiac Ventura. I think the 2nd gen camaro rears are 1" wider per side. Depending on the wheels you are running, if they are from a late model camaro/vette you can run an impala 12 bolt rear because it is wider than the camaro by I believe 1 3/4" so you don't have to run spacers.

98-02 rear's are junk i blew mine up in my 99 ta and i wasnt even pushin much power to it

You're right... its junk. Once I saw the post on the '71+ 10 bold info I started pulling the brakes off the '98. good thing i didn't waste time with it.... the gears in the diff were destroyed. Now I just need to find a newer rear.
