This is Nikki--Chris' wife--I had not heard of donks--so I did a quick search...most of the references refer to a large, round female posterior..then I found these definitions...now we are all enlightened.

Donks classics and larger cars , mostly domestic, lifted and fitted with 20" wheels or greater.Most with bold candy paint and designer inspired "patterned" interiors. Popular in southern states and rap videos ,or with people with to much money and a old car

A vehicle trend for people with no concept of rotational mass. Vehicles are typically cars from the 80's, equipped with lift kits to heighten the center of gravity and make sure your bumper kills the driver you t-bone when your stock brakes can't stop those massive wheels that cost more than the car. Very few of these drivers upgrade their brakes, regear their transmission, or increase their horsepower any significant amount.

The people who do it right usually perform engine swaps, transmission regearing, brake upgrades, and throttle programming. The problem is very few people take the time to modify their car correctly, and some take pride in having "haters" and have no ambition to do the project correctly anyways

Just to put some back story into this, these cars originate from the "Dirty South" sub culture. There are 3 major types of cars:
Donks : 1971-1976 Impalas. The name Donk comes from the impala emblem and its nickname of the donkey, or donk for short. These cars will normally be higher in the front with somewhat of a reverse rake, to compliment the body lines of these cars.
Box : 77-late 80's Impala or G bodys, named for their "Boxy" body lines.
Bubble : 91-96 Caprice
The rest of the cars are grouped together into the "hi riser" category. Some of these cars are well built, and some a poorly built. The poorly built ones are typically built for the sole purpose of trolling, and they win.

Thanks for the info - I didn't realize my wife had posted until now.

I too didn't know what a DONK was.

I have a buddy at work that has been looking at the website with me. Some of the creativity and craftsmanship is amazing - total top shelf. Some...well, appear to be rolling death traps.

I've never seen one that sits as high as some of these on the street. I've seen the Cracker Jack - Ritz - and other sort of cereal box label (I mean that - they are painted with Captain Crunch - Lucky Charms...etc on the side) cars with large rims - but never one jacked this high actually in use.

I wonder what impact it has on the brakes.
